Taking place two years after the events of previous films, Alice must succeed where her father failed-run from Umbrella Corporation president Albert Wesker. She goes rogue to take down Wesker for good but ends up being double crossed by him once more. This is the last installment of the film series. Alice fights her way through Los Angeles, trying to find survivors and reach the Arcadia (a safe haven facility) with proof that she's still human. The film was shot at various locations in South Africa, Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg; including The Kruger National Park. The first trailer for "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" was released on 9 August 2015. It was revealed that, like its predecessors, it will be filmed in 3D. It was scheduled to be released on 16 January 2017 in Japan, but it will now be released on 21 September 2016. It was released in the United States in 2D, 3D and 4DX on 20 January 2017 alongside "Underworld: Blood Wars". It was originally scheduled to be released in October 2016, but it was pushed back after it was changed from 3D to 2D. A Hong Kong version of the film, dubbed into Cantonese, was released in Hong Kong on 27 January 2017. The MVO (Mandarin) version of the film debuted in China on 6 May 2017. It will be dubbed into French by EuropaCorp shortly after its release in France on 17 June 2017. The term "Rei Zulu" will be used for the African American versions of the movie for South Africa and Nigeria respectively. The games "Resident Evil Zero" and "" will be remastered with the title "Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster" and "Resident Evil HD Remaster", respectively, on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on 25 January 2017. It was originally unclear whether the film would be released in Japan. Capcom's official Japanese websites had not listed it as coming to Japan until November 2016, when it was added to the box office website listing screenings in some areas of Japan beginning 31 January 2017. The first showings began on schedule, but after several minutes into the film, all screenings were stopped by the theater staff without any notice or explanation. It was not until the next day that the reasons were revealed. The staff at the theater had noticed that several of the film's stars were wearing leotards, which was deemed to be an "unusual or sickly situation", and presumably led them to call in the police. Members of the audience claimed that they felt pressured into paying money for tickets. They announced that they intended to file a civil case against Capcom, but ultimately decided against it after pursuing legal action would only cause further agitation in Japan, where copyright infringement laws are already subject to much criticism due to very lenient sentencing laws. cfa1e77820
